The wind tunnel "Raffaele Balli" is a subsonic tunnel in a closed loop configuration equipped with a single-stage axial fan with variable pitch, moved by an asynchronous motor. It is a medium size facility, in whichtests are carried out both on scale and real models.
In the structure qualified staff work with specific skills for each customer need with assistance in the scheduling of tests, during the execution, and for data post-processing.
The wind tunnel is equipped for tests on helmets, measuring of the aerodynamic forces with three axial load cell and mapping pressures acting on the helmet or other sport equipment with a 32 channels high frequency pressure scanner.
